We teamed up with Fashion Capital and spoke with Reading-based thrash metallers Sylosis at Sonisphere Festival 2010.

How did the band form?
It began back in school around 10 years ago - for the first 5 years we were just a local band and we've partially changed the lineup around since then.

So you then signed a deal with Nuclear Blast in 2007 - how did this come about?
They stumbled across our Myspace page and just sent us an email saying they wanted to work with us.

How well was your debut album 'Conclusion Of An Age' received?
Yeah, definitely. Since then everything has gone really well - we've been touring everywhere.

How is your new album coming along?
We've pretty much finished it now - it's just getting mixed at the moment.

How does it compare musically to your last album?
It follows on from Conclusion Of An Age but it's a bit more mature and aggressive.

Is there a release date set?
Not officially yet - we hope it will be this year but could end up being early next year.

Going back to your first self-produced EP - do you prefer the DIY approach to recording?
At the time there were no local producers right for our style and so we decided to take care of it ourselves. But we prefer going to a professional studio.

So how does it feel to be playing tonight at Sonisphere?
It feels awesome - we played here last year as well and if it's half as good as that it will be amazing. It's a much bigger festival this time round so it should be a good show.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing at the Festival?
We really want to see Rammstein and also Motley Crue, who are amazing. We'd also like to see Rinoa and Evile who are playing on the smaller stages.

What other festivals are you doing this year?
We've just played Graspop in Belgium and we're playing at Hevy Fest next week along with a few other European ones.
